2008 TULSA
PARKS KIDS' TRIATHLON COMING JULY 26
July 26, 2008, at McClure Park!
For boys and gilrs, ages 6 through 15. Races begin at 8:00am. Workshop Friday evening at 6:30pm.
Long Course: Swim 150m, bike 2miles, run 1mile. Starts at 8.
Short Course: Swim 25m, bike 1/2 mile, run 1/4 mile. Starts after finish of long course.
TAT helps produce this race: we help with the Trathon Workshop on Friday evening, and we're responsible for marking and monitoring the bike courses. We'll be asking for help to run it. Later, so mark your calendars. It's the most fun you'll have without racing! For TAT information or to volunteer for TAT, contact Larry Rahmeier at 693-4336; for Tulsa Parks information, contact Sue Price at 596-2527.
2008 TULSA
TRIATHLON A SUCCESS!
Detailed race report coming. Congratulations to all the particpants and thanks to all the volunteers. Thanks to Tim and his crew for putting on a great race!
Amish
Alley Ride Huge Success !
About 20 TAT members and
other cyclists met at Inola High School on Sunday, May
18 for the "Amish Alley Ride". Doug McFarlin organized
the ride, provided great maps, road markings and even "sag
support". The weather was perfect, car traffic
was light and the roads were in great condition. Thanks
to Doug for all of his hard work and effort to make this
happen! If there is enough interest, this may become
an annual event. Give us your feed-back.

TAT!
What a club!
Congratulations to all the Tulsans
who went down to Memphis last
month for Memphis in May. Our town was very
well represented by athletes down there.
A few notables from TAT:
Jocelyn Wood won the overall women’s
amateur challenge (combines the results
of a mountain bike race on Saturday & Olympic
Tri on Sunday), including 5th in
her age group at the Olympic distance.
Lori O’Lin won 6th overall
women’s amateur challenge,
including 12th in her age group at
the Olympic distance.
Sean Stevens won 5th overall on
the amateur challenge, including
a podium spot at the Olympic distance
race, getting 3rd.
Rob James won 8th overall on the
amateur challenger, including 5th
in his age group in the Olympic distance.
Matt Carnalpicked up the 7th
slot in the incredibly tough Men’s
25-29 age group in the Olympic Tri – putting
up a time of 2:01:38 (with a 26.0
mph bike leg). That is crazy fast.
Jessica
Myers got some hardware
(and maybe some money?) with 2nd
in the women’s pro category
for the Olympic distance.
Doug Leib got 7th in the men’s
50-54 age group
Amanda Erwin got a podium spot
in the women’s 30-35 age group
with a 3rd place finish
Congratulations to past TAT President Larry Rahmeier for completing the 2008 Great Wall Marathon. See his picture album at this LINK. "It's one to put on your list!" according to Larry.

2008
Tulsa Area Triathlons/Duathlon
Status
February 12, 2008
By Scott Ostrem, President TAT
The TAT Board is excited to annouce we have awarded
the race production and management rights for Spring Fever Triathlon, Tulsa
Triathlon, and Tulsa Duathlon to Core Multisport (Spring Fever) and Fleet Feet
(Tulsa Tri and Tulsa Du). While the finer details are still being worked out,
Core Multisport and Fleet Feet will assume all responsibilities and benefits
associated with the three multisport races. This partnership between TAT and
Core Multisport as well as TAT and Fleet Feet will have a number of benefits to
the TAT club and TAT Board. Foremost, the Board is now free to focus on
training events, social events, and the fun task of introducing new triathletes
to the sport. We are aware that the decision and action to outsource the races
may be a big leap for many of you. We believe it is truly in the club's best
interest, and will in the end help grow the sport of triathlon in Tulsa. Please
welcome Core Multisport and Fleet Feet to the elite group of businesses who have
produced multisport events in Tulsa over the years. Thank you, Scott Ostrem,
President of TAT

Help
TAT win SMW Club Championship
for 2008.
TAT is participating
in the SouthMidWest REgion - USATriathlon
Club Champion points race for 2008.
All you need to do is be on the official
TAT Club-Member Roster at least Three
days before a USAT Sanctioned race
in the SMW Region (or boarering state).
We have a dedicated member who will
take it from there--if you are doing
a local race, he'll find your name
and results. If you go to some race
farther out, let him know you'll be
racing so he can confirm your finish.
Everyone gets half a point just for
participating, and winners of age groups
get more. But, every point helps. The
score table for Spring Fever is HERE, just to give you an idea.
For more information, or to tell us you race schedule, contact Robert Flagor.
