Late-Spring Training
Okay, it's official! Here's the deal:

Each Thursday night (except 8th of May), on-going until at least the end of August. From 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (NEW TIME!) at the in-door pool in the ORU-Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center. A splendid 50-meter pool (just about open water for us weak swimmers).

It is FREE for TAT members. We have lanes 5 & 6 of the pool reserved for that one-hour period. Tell the front desk you are a TAT member, and also check in with our lane-monitor in the pool area. If you haven't signed the ORU Liability Waiver, make sure you do before you swim!

ORU Dress Code Applies: men-NO SPEEDO briefs; women-NO 2-PIECE SUITS. Tri-shorts should be ok.

We'll have a TAT member there to give some work-out plans, and get you going. Mostly, this is to provide an opportunity for triathletes  to get together during the early-winter months to train, improve stroke technique and efficiency with practice, and have fun commiserating and looking forward to the 2008 Triathlon Season.

Note: this was a great success in November and December. So, we have extended it. This is a major benefit of being in TAT. (If you are not a member, go the the "about us" page to download the form, or sign up on-line.)

Be prompt! We have only that hour, so you need to be ready to get wet and train at 6:00 pm exactly.

Training or Coaching.

These sessions are for training. Those organizing the session are triathletes just like you, also looking for a good workout. They are not coaches, but may be willing to give you some pointers. If you need or expect serious coaching on your technique, there are several coaches and schools in the area. For example, Janet Wilson, a TAT member, is a USA Triathlon Certified Triathlon Coach. Check out her services at www.coach-janet.com.

Spring Open-Water Training:

Watch soon for announcements about groups swimming at Skiatook Lake. Most of us are waiting for the water to warm, and the spring swell to go down!
