Ready to realize your triathlon dreams? We're here to help. Our triathlon camp introduces aspiring athletes to triathlon through a 12-week training/support program for novice athletes targeting to complete their first triathlon at TAT Spring Fever Sprint event on May 3th, 2026. The event is 400 yard pool swim, 12 mile bike ride and 2 mile run and is ideal for the beginner triathlete. You'll learn about triathlon from local swim, cycling, running & triathlon coaches as well as a little help from local Tulsa Area Triathletes.
The TAT Beginner Triathlon Camp is a 12 week, coach-supported program designed to prepare first - time triathletes for TAT Spring Fever Triathlon on Sunday May 3rd, 2026.
The camp begins with a kickoff meeting on Sunday, February 8th at RunnersWorld Tulsa, 39th and Peoria. Athletes complete weekly swim, bike and run workouts on their own, with weekly group training sessions and clinics generally held on Sunday afternoons.
Requirements for attending camp:
Athletes should be able to: swim one length of a 25 yard pool, ride a bike and walk/run 1 mile.

Program Includes:
A 12 - week beginner training plan
Supported group training sessions
Swim clinics, bike course rides, group runs and brick workouts with transition practice
Educational workshops covering triathlon basics, swim/bike/run fundamentals, and bike mechanical & flat repair
Squad Support and communication via GroupMe

Campers will receive $100 credit to Zoot for triathlon gear
Program cost: $100 per person for the training camp only, this does not include registration for Spring Fever Tri or USAT license

WHO IS TRI-CAMP IDEALLY SUITED FOR?
You! Beginner Triathlon Camp is designed to provide novice adult athletes a hands-on introduction to Triathlon. Minimum participant age is 18 years old as of 1/1/24. Athletes should be able to swim one length of pool, ride a bike and walk/run 1 mile.
Ideally you'll finish camp with new friends and feel more comfortable and confident as you advance through your triathlon journey.
PROGRAM PARTICIPATION & REQUIREMENTS
Your desire to be a triathlete; and
The ability to swim one length of pool, ride a bike and walk/run 1 mile safely, without outside assistance.
Minimum participant age is 18 years old as of January 1st.
Participating athletes will provide 1 volunteer (family/friend) for Spring Fever Triathlon who will receive a 30% discount coupon from RunnersWorld Tulsa.
Participating athletes should be able to swim one length of pool, ride a bike and walk/run 1 mile.
Participants must provide minimum equipment*:
Swim suit & googles
Bike* and cycling helmet* with flat repair kit and suitable riding clothes
Run shoes and suitable walking/running clothes
*Your bike and helmet must be safe and sound condition in order to participate in any club cycling event. If you are unsure about your bike, please take it to your local bike shop for an inspection prior to camp. Our first meeting will be an orientation where we'll be happy to answer any and all equipment questions.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
To have fun and learn as you meet other aspiring triathletes just like yourself, learn about Triathlon, learn about Tulsa area swim-bike-run groups and resources and, ask a lot of questions. Hopefully you'll find a lot of helpful answers and make great friendships along the way.
Camp begins with an orientation meeting where you'll meet those leading each session, meet your fellow campers, review the camp schedule and then dive into any questions you have about anything and everything triathlon.
Camp consists of weekly sessions where you'll learn about triathlon swimming, transition, bike maintenance & flat repair, USAT rules, nutrition, equipment, clothing and gear. Each session is hands-on and interactive.
Weather-permitting, group rides and runs will be incorporated before or after most sessions.
Camp wraps up with our annual club preview ride of the Spring Fever Triathlon course.
What are the costs?
There will be a camp registration fee and participants must be a TAT member. Learn about TAT membership here. If you plan to race Spring Fever Triathlon, there will be a race registration fee which also requires USAT membership or 1-day USAT race registration.
$100 per person for the training camp only
Athlete will need to register for race and also need to have annual USAT membership or buy a USAT 1 day license at race registration ($15). You will receive $20 off the registration costs.

WHEN IS THE NEXT CAMP?
TAT hosts one multi-week camp annually (Feb-April) however, we will host one-day clinics on various topics throughout the year that are open to all our members. Look for clinic announcements via club enewsletter (subscribe) or follow us on Facebook.
